Rydal Penrhos Community

Rydal Penrhos’ golf teams compete locally, nationally and internationally as well as taking part in inter-school fixtures, both home and away, on a regular basis. In 2015 our teams achieved phenomenal success, including the Team Nett title at the Independent Schools Golf Association Scottish Open, held at the Kings Acre Golf Club, Midlothian.

Rydal Penrhos recently added to North Wales’ plethora of golf facilities when the school opened its own short-game area. The facilities include driving nets, an all-weather green, and bunkers that present different challenging scenarios around the green.
The facility offers pupils the opportunity to try their hand at golf or to hone the essential short-game skills that make such an incredible difference to any player’s game.

The facility also allows us to build golf into the extra-curricular timetable. Expert tuition is provided by our long-term resident golf professional, Rhodri Lloyd-Jones, who gives regular training sessions on Wednesday and Friday afternoons.

Pupils have access to the facilities in their spare time, and they can practice and receive additional 1:1 tuition on site. Pupils also have access to local golf clubs on Saturdays and midweek during the summer months.
