Fees assistance for 2012
Both UK and overseas pupils may apply for scholarships and bursaries in the fields of Academia, Art, Drama, Music, and Sport. Fully-funded day places are available to children living in the North Wales area. The deadline for bursary/scholarship applications is 13 January 2011. The termly fees for overseas pupils for the 2011-2012 academic year are as follows:

Full boarding

Years 7-8
(11-12 year-olds) £7 285

Years 9-11
(13-16 year-olds) £8 745

Years 12-13 (Sixth form)
(16-18 year-olds) £8 980

General Charge £115

The fee covers the principal charges for tuition, basic stationery, accommodation, Health Centre fees, meals and (for boarders) normal laundry. It also covers sundries such as the school magazine, plays, team fares, entertainment in school, termly calendars, the Rydal Penrhos Society and St John’s Methodist Church but does not include excursions, dry-cleaning and examination fees.

A deposit of £300 will be required on a pupil’s entry to the school which will be accounted for at the end of the final term.

For existing year 11 pupils entering into the Sixth form, a discount is applied to the above fees. Please contact the bursary for further details.

Optional extras

English language tuition is available through our specialist department.

Instrumental music and singing lessons are available on request at a charge of £200 per term.

School fees protection scheme, Denplan and personal effects insurance are optional. Accident insurance is compulsory at a current cost of £3.75 per term.

Taxi transport between Manchester Airport and Rydal Penrhos can be arranged by the school (approximately £70 each one-way transfer, but less for shared taxis).

Payment

Fees are payable in accordance with the school’s Terms and Conditions. Monthly payments may be made through Holmwoods Termtime Credit Scheme. Details are available from the Bursar’s office.

As is the case with all schools, the fees quoted above are subject to a standard annual increase published each summer.
