A large number of talented pupils at Rydal Penrhos received a special accolade in acknowledgement of their exceptional allocation to their studies.
No fewer than 16 pupils from Years 9, 10 and 12 were awarded Effort, Attainment and Progress Prizes from the school’s annual Speech Day event, which took place on Saturday, May 26.
The prizes were presented to each pupil by Old Rydalian and special guest speaker Flt Lt Nathan Jones, and were given in recognition of their impressive development and achievement across all departments throughout another hugely successful academic year.
The Year 9 contingent of Megan Gibson, Arthur Hind, Juan Rajagopal, Niamh Smith and Lili Minton Roberts were given the honour after an outstanding contribution, while Kevin Farrell, Vanessa Ma, Anna Parry-Williams, Richard Wolfendale and Alicia Zhou were the Year 10 recipients.
Newly appointed Head Girl Gowri Pradeep was another to receive the Prize, with fellow Year 12 pupils Imogen Camp, Malina Keil, Phillip Novak, Lennart Paulsen and Ivy Tun also taking home the distinction.
Deputy Head Tim Cashell, said: “Our Academic success is well-documented and it is something we are incredibly proud of here at Rydal Penrhos, and with so many pupils gaining Attainment prizes the future of the school is in very safe hands.
“Hopefully each recipient can use this as a source of motivation as they continue to build their knowledge across all areas under the care and support of our superb staff team, who are always on hand to discuss any matters of interest and provide helpful hints on how to improve their learning and wellbeing.”
