A group of young pupils at Rydal Penrhos have organised a special event for residents of a Colwyn Bay care home.
The Year 7 contingent have been busy planning a Garden Party for Merton Place, and it will take place within the home’s grounds on Friday, June 29.
During the event there will be plenty of cakes and refreshments for the residents to enjoy, while there will also be an opportunity to speak with each Year 7 pupil about their experiences at Rydal Penrhos during their first year at the Senior site.
An invitation has also been sent to MP for Clwyd West David Jones in the hope that the dignitary can attend the party.
This is the latest in a series of initiatives run by the school for Merton Place residents throughout the academic year, which has seen multiple trips to the facility from Prep and Senior School pupils.
Year 7 spent considerable time with some of the residents for a special Memory Book project earlier this year, while young members of the Rydal Penrhos community performed songs at the site over the festive period and during the spring.
Deputy Head Tim Cashell, said: “We are very proud of our work in the community and at Merton Place, and each pupil gets an enormous amount of their interaction with residents during the year.
“Hopefully this garden party will be another fantastic event and it is a testament to how much pride our younger pupils take in representing Rydal Penrhos in a positive fashion throughout the region.”
