A Preparatory School year group took part in a series of exciting activities linked to a prominent occasion on the calendar.
Head of Boys’ Games and Year 6 tutor Jamie McLeod put a new twist on the mathematics lesson on Tuesday, March 5, which took on a special Pancake Day theme.
They started by following instructions and using their knowledge of measurements to measure out the ingredients, before putting their culinary skills to the test by creating their very own pancakes to enjoy.
This was followed by some Pancake Day maths problems to round-off an exciting series of activities that boosted their learning and additional skills in a relaxed and friendly environment.
Prep School Head Alison Hind, said: “Our wonderful staff are always looking for exciting ways for the children to maximise their learning, and this Pancake Day themed session really captured the imagination of our Year 6 group.
“They worked incredibly hard both individually and as a team, solving some tricky mathematical problems and having a great deal of fun in the process.
“Each pupil can be enormously proud of their contribution both during this lesson and throughout their overall contribution to Prep School life, and I would like to thank Mr McLeod for coming up with yet another exciting activity.”
