A large number of Preparatory School pupils are nearing the end of a successful ongoing academic initiative.
Six members of the Year 6 group can now see the finishing line in sight in regards to Rydal Penrhos’ Spelling Challenge, after coming through their recent assessments with flying colours.
Teaching staff devised the popular scheme for pupils in 2017, which has three different levels each with 110 words.
The pupils have been encouraged to work towards their incremental targets of Gold, Silver and Bronze within each stage, with Head Boy Ellis Lister-Brookes, Freya Berklay and Head Girl Grace Watkins now within one test of completion after sealing their Stage Three Silver Award.
There was further cause for celebration in the form of Will Hibbert, Sophie Edwards and Maggie McDuff, who were rewarded for their exceptional recent progress with Stage Two Gold Award triumphs.
All six pupils received a certificate recognising their respective achievements at the Prep School Celebration Assemblies over the last week.
Prep School Head Alison Hind, said: “Our Year 6 are frantically trying to complete the Spelling Challenge before they start the next stage of their education later on this year.
“They have all worked incredibly hard throughout all areas of school life and can be enormously proud of what they have accomplished during a busy few months for all concerned here at Rydal Penrhos.”
