Year 6 hold hugely entertaining Café Dolphin showcase

A Preparatory School year group took the stage together for the final time at a special event prior to the summer break.

The Year 6 pupils wowed the audience in attendance for their annual Café Dolphin showcase, which featured a number of exceptional performances to keep the crowd thoroughly entertained throughout.

There were a host of notable highlights from the series of sketches and Performing Arts contributions during a thoroughly entertaining evening.

Tristan Griffiths’ card tricks wowed those in attendance and received support on stage from the brother-sister duo of Gabriel and Clara Donohue, with songs from Violet Roberts, Chloe Tillman-Lennon, Rana Abou-Samra, Sophie Edwards, Maggie McDuff, Grace Watkins and Amber England-Bryant also catching the eye.

Molly Alefounder even sawed Gracie Tavernor in half during another magician sketch.

The piano talent of Zack Coverley and Freddie MacLaverty were showcased with another exceptional solo performance, with a dance routine from Sophie, Keira Luke, Daisy Yates, Gracie, Pippa Roberts and Fflur Pierce bringing a rousing round of applause from those in attendance.

An interesting take on life was rapped hilariously by Zack, Will McLaughlin and Ellis Lister-Brookes, and a Cheerleader routine featuring a standout effort from Cieran Milligan was another notable highlight.

The Haka Sketch featuring the Year 6 boys was portrayed brilliantly, and the Café Dolphin event concluded with a group performance of ‘A Million Dreams’, which is a hit from the popular musical The Greatest Showman.

Prep School Head Alison Hind, said: “This year’s Café Dolphin was another incredible event in a relaxed surrounding, and each member of the Year 6 group played their part in its success.

“Their unrivalled enthusiasm and ability to multi-task has really come to the fore during an extremely busy summer term for the group, and we wish them the very best of luck as they prepare for the next stage of their journey.”
