A group of Preparatory School pupils are in the final stages of preparation ahead of a highly anticipated annual event.
Rehearsals are in full swing ahead of the annual Year 4 play next week, which will be taking on the iconic William Shakespeare comedy a Midsummer Night’s Dream.
The group took part in a special dress rehearsal on Wednesday, March 14 under the guidance of teacher Catherine Culver, where they honed their skills and practiced their respective roles in the lead-up to opening night.
This will take place on Tuesday, March 20, with a further night scheduled for Wednesday 21 and a new stage in the centre of the Prep School Hall is one of the standout new features.
Anyone coming to the play can expect a large number of exceptional individual performances, with Lily Copeland, Cammie de la Mare Norris, Will Glanville, Geoffrey Fu, Louis Townley-Bass, Jorgie Lynch, Lucy Ranales-Griffiths and Tilly Trueman all catching the eye with their efforts during the rehearsal.
The story is based on four young lovers, who find themselves wrapped in the dream-like arms of an enchanted forest where sprites lurk and fairies rule.
Deputy Head Alison Hind, said: “Each pupil involved has been working incredibly hard during the rehearsal process, and our staff have offered them a tremendous amount of support and guidance throughout each stage of the play’s development.
“Hopefully this will amount to some amazing performances and it is a credit to them that they are taking the stage once again to express themselves and demonstrate their talent in the performing arts.”
