A group of Triathletes at Rydal Penrhos continued their impressive start to the campaign at a regional event.
The trio travelled to Whitchurch to compete in the Shropshire Kids Fun Race, which was open for Year 5-11 pupils and was held on Dearnford Lake.
It was just the second ever event that the Rydal Penrhos squad had taken part in, but despite this the team of Adrian Lewis, Josh Peevor and Joe Allen all came away from the competition with an enormous amount of credit.
The race consisted of a lake swim, off road bike and a challenging multi lap run, and Josh produced a sensational effort to cross the line in second position in the 13-16 age group, with Adrian following him in a very respectable seventh.
There was further success in the form of Year 9 pupil Joe, who performed remarkably in his first ever Triathlon, and managed to secure seventh place after recovering from a stressful swim.
The positive performance comes on the back of Rydal Penrhos' debut forray into competitive Triathlon events, which were spearheaded by the talented pair of Samiya Garrod and Mollie Smithfield.
Triathlon coach Paul Sanders, said: “These were phenomenal results for our fledgling triathletes and I am looking forward to many more successes in the future.”
