Three former Rydal Penrhos pupils are gearing up for national appearances at a prestigious competition over the next two weeks.
Dylan Kerfoot-Robson, who left the school in 2011, will be riding in the Mountain Bike and Road Race events at the showcase, which take place on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia from April 4-15.
The son of Head of Science Dave Robson spent more than a decade at Rydal Penrhos, and the hopeful been involved in a series of competitions across Europe in the lead-up to the games.
Also competing at the event will be former rugby academy star Tom Williams, who was selected to the Wales 7s squad following a successful return from injury.
The Ospreys star is expected to be one of the key contributors to any success that comes the national side’s way at the tournament, which is expected to be one of the highlights of the fortnight.
Rounding off the selections is Suzy Drane, who will once again skipper the Wales Netball team as they look to get amongst the medals in the face of some stern opposition.
The Celtic Dragons standout and Cardiff University lecturer is one of the most respected figures in the history of Welsh netball, and her presence will be vital for a young squad that will be looking to enhance their growing reputation.
