Three talented runners at Rydal Penrhos managed to secure some outstanding finishes from a prominent event in the region last weekend.
Josh Peevor, Harry Jackson and Morgan Kendall took their place in a 700-strong field for the 27th annual Nick Beer Memorial 10km road-running race, which was held in Llandudno on Sunday, February 10.
The trio turned in a fabulous effort around the testing course, which featured the daunting terrain of the Great Orme before finishing along the resort’s picturesque promenade.
All three were competing in the U20 category, with Josh managing to secure a podium to cross the line in third position within the category and an exceptional 60th overall.
Following close behind was Harry and Morgan, who finished fourth and fifth in the same category respectively to round off the impressive achievements from a Rydal Penrhos perspective.
All proceeds from the event went to St David’s Hospice in Llandudno.
For the first time ever a 1k fun run was held before the main race along the promenade.
James Wilde, St David’s Hospice Conwy Area Fundraiser, said: “The Nick Beer race has a fantastic history in Llandudno spanning more than a quarter of a century and we’re really happy to be involved in the first ever Nick Beer Fun Run."
