A former Rugby Academy star at Rydal Penrhos will continue his efforts with the Welsh 7s side at a prestigious event.
Tom Williams, who left the school in 2014, will travel to Singapore for the next leg of the World Rugby Sevens Series after being named in the extended squad by head coach Gareth Williams.
The ex-RGC prospect, who is now part of the Ospreys set-up, will be looking to build on his positive efforts that almost resulted in Commonwealth Games glory last week.
In a winner-takes-all pool match, Team Wales went agonisingly close to beating Fiji and reaching the semi-finals of the Games last Saturday, drawing praise for producing one of the most memorable displays of the tournament with the eventual finalists.
Williams, who will wait until next week to finalise his game day selection, said: "We return to our World Series programme and finding consistency in our performance is key for our ambition.
"It's time we deliver on our potential and put a complete performance together in a World Series event. We came close to realising a dream in Gold Coast last week, now we need to consistently do so.
"There are players who are coming to an end of their period with us and moving on to regional environments in the coming months.
“The next step of their development is to compete at that level, and I expect to see Morgan Williams and Tom Williams playing in European competition in the latter stages of next year. Many others could also be pushing for regional inclusion with what they are capable of."
