Preparatory School swimming stars performed well at a prestigious national competition recently.
The Rydal Penrhos contingent travelled to Cardiff for the Urdd National Gala on Saturday, January 26, which saw them compete against some of the best young talent anywhere in the country.
There were a host of outstanding individual and relay performances from a Prep School perspective throughout the event, with each member of the squad qualifying for the showcase thanks to an exceptional display at the regional heat late last year.
The school managed to secure places in a number of finals as a result of their outstanding application throughout, and there was further cause for celebration in the form of some significant improvement on personal best times.
Prep School Head Alison Hind, who also attended the event, said: “It was a wonderful weekend and each member of the squad represented Rydal Penrhos magnificently both in and out of the pool.
“Their conduct was exemplary and they can be enormously proud of their performances during what was a very testing and long day of racing.
“Hopefully this can be a great confidence boost for them going forward and the experience will undoubtedly aid their overall development considerably.”
