Staff and pupils at Rydal Penrhos are being invited to come to school in their pyjamas all in the name of charity.
As part of Rydal Penrhos’ contribution to nationwide fundraising drive BBC Children in Need, the school’s Charity Committee have organised a ‘One Big Sleepover’ event on Friday, November 17.
All year groups can sit in lessons in their bedtime clothing – with dressing gowns and teddy bears also welcome – for a small donation of £1 which will be donated to the cause.
There is also the opportunity to come to school in your own clothes at a cost of £3.
A Cookie, Donut, Brownie and Milk sale will be held during morning break, while at lunchtime a number of brave teachers have also put themselves forward for a special makeover, which will be instigated by pupils for a small fee.
In addition to the events on the day, The Friends of Rydal Penrhos committee have arranged a Quiz Night that will take place at the Sixth Form Ferguson Centre on Tuesday, November 14 from 6.30pm.
Answers will be recorded instantly via a mobile device, and the event will be raising funds for BBC Children in Need.
There is a fantastic prize on offer in the form of 13 tickets to go and watch the filming of A Question of Sport at MediaCityUK in Salford (10 pupil places plus three staff).
A producer from the long-running BBC show will be taking on the role of quizmaster for the night, and the quiz will feature rounds from the program, as well as random rounds such as fastest finger first, musical clips, image rounds, and Rydal Penrhos related rounds.
The cost to enter is £10 per team, with a maximum of five people per team. Each team must have one device – either a tablet or smartphone - to connect to the quiz system.
The quiz is open to all staff, parents, and Senior School pupils, and anyone wishing to book their place should email SJRitchie@rydalpenrhos.com.
