Head of Art Mark Sherrington discusses what went on during the recent A-Level Art and Art Photography examination in his latest staff blog, and he was full of praise for the pupils involved:
The A level Art and Photography exams took place at the beginning of May.
The Fine Artists had been working on separate themes and handed in bulging books on themes ready of the exam ready for marking and moderation.
During the three days, the candidates worked hard on paintings, each using unconventional grounds to work on and producing both personal and intricate pieces which will demand close inspection at the final exhibition.
The photographers worked with both flat images and in some cases created three dimensional responses to their themes.
All their work has now been sent to be professionally printed so that it looks as good as possible for the visiting moderator.
It promises to be a diverse and varied show again this year with some excellent painting, printmaking, installation work and impressive photography.
Final open Exhibition evening is June 24 from 4.30-7pm. All are welcome in the Art room.
