Preparatory School musicians took centre stage as part of a special event before the end of term.
Rydal Penrhos’ Spring Concert took place on Tuesday, March 27, which saw Years 3-6 perform in front of a packed audience at the School Hall.
Keira Luke kicked off proceedings with a performance of Allegretto in G, before Rana Abou-Samra followed with her rendition of The Mallow Fling.
The talented Liam Farrell’s Cooling Breeze was performed with his usual aplomb, and The Treble Makers also made an impressive contribution to the showcase with their rendition of Viva La Vida.
Ellie Knight and Violet Roberts demonstrated their musical ability on the piano and clarinet respectively, while the Year 6 boys took to the stage for their final Spring Concert to sing Human.
Exceptional pianist Zack Coverley’s performance of Nanette’s Music was another notable highlight, with fellow Year 5 pupil Tristan Griffiths bringing some rock n’ roll to the concert with a drum solo of Hobo’s Grove.
The Year 4 duo of Charlotte Payne and Lily Copeland performed the Moana hit How Far I’ll Go, and the concert concluded with songs from the Junior Vocal Ensemble and the entire group.
Each pupil worked immensely hard during the rehearsal process under the superb guidance of music teacher Richard Davies, and this is one of many concerts put on by the school throughout the year with a view to improving confidence and enhancing skills in front of a crowd.
