A leading sports nutritionist paid a special visit to Rydal Penrhos for the last Talented Athlete seminar of the academic year.
Danny Webber, an experienced performance nutritionist based in Chester, was the special guest at the event, which took place on Tuesday, June 18 in the Dining Hall.
The evening was a continuation of the school’s previous work on nutrition, but pupils were given practical demonstrations of recipes they can easily make to meet their nutrition needs for pre, during and post exercise.
A prominent feature of the seminar was how to continue with a strong and balanced diet relating to peak physical performance during a busy lifestyle, which also provided those in attendance with some invaluable information going forward.
Mr Webber completed a BSc (Hons) Sports Science degree followed by an MSc in Sports Physiology at Liverpool John Moores University, before continuing his professional development as an applied practitioner in supporting athletes of all levels to achieve their full potential.
He boasts extensive experience of working with high level and professional athletes in a variety of sports, with high-profile clubs such as Newcastle Falcons RFU, Chester RUFC, Chester FC, Cheshire Phoenix Basketball Club, Bury FC and Table Tennis England all benefitting from his services in recent years.
Mr Webber also supports many individual athletes including World Championship Boxers, high level Ironman triathletes, endurance and ultra-endurance athletes, competitive powerlifters, international cricketers and mixed martial artists, in addition to being an SEN registered practitioner, an ISAK certified Anthropometrist and a UK Anti-Doping accredited advisor.
