Speech and Drama pupils at Rydal Penrhos are in the final stages of preparation ahead of a high-profile competition this weekend.
A total of 35 hopefuls will participate in various categories at the Chester Drama Festival, which will take place on Saturday, March 17.
Each pupil has been working extremely hard under the guidance of Speech and Drama guru Christine Bloomfield in the lead-up to the prestigious competition, with the school achieving an outstanding 15 first place prizes last year.
Year 7 will be well represented as Christian Cheesley, Eve Durrans, Ella James, Freddie James, Emily Jones, Ruby Merrick, Caitriona Searl, Will Tavernor, Ada Vonbank and George Watkins all looking to achieve success at the event, while the Year 8 trio of Emma Hackman, Sophie Madden and Lili Northcott also taking part.
The Year 9 group will be looking to carry on the school’s fine tradition at the competition with Dammy Animashaun, Shruthi Ganapathi, Darcie Harker-Weston, Ellen Jones, Josh Peevor, Bella Rutherford, Phillipa Thomas and Sophie Williams all competing, with the quartet of Vanessa Ma, Anna Parry-Williams, Amanda Sperring and Alicia Zhou aiming to make their mark from Year 10.
Carlotta Freytag. Harry Hackman, Finlay Hare, Barooj Maqsood and Zhara Shamsi will form the Year 11 team at the Festival, and the Rydal Penrhos contingent are rounded off by the presence of Lower Sixth fForm pupils Imogen Camp, Ruby James, Grace Ormerod and Miles Poller.
