Two more Preparatory School pupils have climbed the ladder of a special learning initiative.
Rydal Penrhos staff devised the popular scheme for pupils last year, which has three different levels each with 110 words.
The pupils have been encouraged to work towards their incremental targets of Gold, Silver and Bronze within each stage, with Sophie Edwards and Martha-Rose Johnson the latest to receive acknowledgement for their application towards the programme.
Year 5 pupil Sophie secured her Stage Two Bronze Award after coming through her assessment with flying colours, while Year 3 child Martha-Rose is now the proud owner of a Stage One Gold certificate.
Both received their accolades, together with a generous round of applause, from Deputy Head Alison Hind at Rydal Penrhos’ weekly Celebration Assembly on Friday, May 11.
This is the latest in a series of academic initiatives put on by the Prep School during the year, which have been implemented with a view to improving knowledge and classroom performance.
Mrs Hind, who devised the scheme, said: “Our Spelling Challenge continues to be one of the key initiatives here at our Prep School, and this is something that inspires staff and pupils alike.
“They have really got behind it fully and have produced some magnificent results. Well done to Sophie and Martha-Rose on their success and hopefully this will spur them on with their future endeavours.”
