Snowdon claim Prep School Sports Day title

Talented Preparatory School athletes battled it out for bragging rights at Rydal Penrhos’ annual Sports Day.

The young prep school sports stars competed in a series of events on Friday, May 18 in-front of a packed out audience of parents, families and staff on a gorgeous day at New Field, which was hosting all three events for the first time.

After events including hurdles, obstacles, egg and spoon, relays and sprints, Snowdon emerged victorious by a narrow margin, and house members Jasmin Beckett-Donald, Elise Mazars, Gabriele Subkovaite and Harry Fardoe collected the coveted trophy from Deputy Head Aison Hined and Head of Boys’ Games Jamie McLeod.

There were a number of impressive individual performances throughout the event, with the likes of Cieran Milligan, Shane Ayeni, Jasmin and Charlotte Payne once again demonstrating their immense athletic talent throughout.

Other notable contributions came from Ethan Akroyd, Ella Northcott, Lily Copeland and Toby Simmons, while James Davies, Pippa Roberts and Gracie Tavernor also emerged from the event with a great deal of credit.

Mrs Hind, said: “We are very lucky to have a great deal of athletic talent here at Rydal Penrhos, and they did themselves and the school proud during the entire event.

“Congratulations to Snowdon on their victory and indeed to everyone that contributed to what was another superb sporting event.”
