A Preparatory School skiing star picked up three more podium finishes at national level to continue his exceptional recent progression.
Xavier Poynton, a Year 3 pupil at Rydal Penrhos, travelled the length of the country to compete against some of the nation’s top talent, securing a wealth of impressive finishes in the process.
He was at the top of his game at the Scottish Indoor Championships, with Xavier turning in a host of outstanding runs to come away with a bronze medal in the U10 boys’ category for his efforts.
This was followed by another superb showing at the Ambition Racing Club National Championships, which saw the aspiring skier tackle the difficult Chill Factore Manchester course extremely well on his way to another third place finish.
Xavier rounded off his latest set of accolades at the GBR Indoor Series 4 event, with the pupil securing a third straight bronze medal in a major competition at U10 level.
It has been an incredible rise to prominence for the eight-year-old, who became the youngest ever skier to earn a place in the prestigious Ambition Racing programme last year.
Prep School Head Alison Hind, said: “Xavier ongoing commitment to his skiing is something that we see transcending into all areas of his school life at Rydal Penrhos, and his hard work and long days travelling needs significant commitment from him and his parents.
“Their passionate and dedication in supporting their son and helping him to chase his dream is something that really is so admirable, and hopefully he can continue this success long into the future and go on to great things.”
