A Preparatory School pupil has drawn inspiration from his older brother as he looks to develop new skills from the sport of skiing.
Xander Poynton, a Year 1 pupil at Rydal Penrhos, took to the slopes at North Wales Snowsports Club in Runcorn after being motivated to take up the sport by sibling Xavier, who has achieved a considerable amount of regional and national successes during what has been a glittering young career to date.
Not only did Xander thoroughly enjoy himself during his first session last month, but he also attended another session at the Runcorn dry ski slope last weekend as he looks to develop his skills further during his initial foray into a new and unfamiliar environment.
Year 3 pupil Xavier is currently taking part in another special coaching scheme with Ambition Racing, with the Prep School prodigy earning a place on the prestigious programme last year.
He recently received some exciting sponsorship news that will be revealed in the coming weeks.
Prep School Head Alison Hind, said: “This is a fantastic story and is a testament to how much a hard-working and successful sibling can have on those follow.
“Xavier has proven to be a natural on skis and it looks like Xander is demonstrating a similar talent if evidence of his first two sessions are anything to go by, and everyone at Rydal Penrhos is looking forward to following their progress with interest in the coming years.”
