A talented skier at Rydal Penrhos added to her list of impressive accolades at a national competition.
Keira Bonnington, a Lower Sixth Form pupil at the school, recently tested her skills against some of the best young skiers anywhere in the country at the Welsh Dry Slope Championships, which took place at Pontypool last month.
The 16-year-old produced a fantastic effort throughout the highly competitive showcase, and her incredible performance saw her come away victorious in the Girls’ U18 category.
This is the latest in a series of exceptional achievements for Keira, who has been one of the shining lights of Rydal Penrhos’ thriving Ski programme, which has produced a large number of national championships and internationals under the expert leadership of former British squad member and current Head of Science Dave Robson.
Director of Sport Allen Boyd, said: “Keira continues to demonstrate her incredible talent on the slopes on a consistent basis, which is a testament to her overall ability and they way she has progressed during her time at Rydal Penrhos.
“Our skiing provision is something that is very unique and takes further advantage of the stunning location we find ourselves in here on the North Wales coast, which has brought a wealth of individual and team achievements under the stewardship of Mr Robson.
“Keira is a prime example of this and the sky is the limit in terms of what she can accomplish in the future.”
