A young Preparatory School skier will be speaking about his recent experiences on the slopes at a national competition on regional radio station this week.
Cameron Pye, a Year 5 pupil at Rydal Penrhos, will be appearing on Sound Radio’s breakfast show on Tuesday, February 11, where he will be speaking about his time with the Dragons Racing Club at the Welsh Championships in Champéry, Switzerland.
The ten-year-old has been at the top of his game in recent weeks, achieving success on the regional and national stage during a busy series of competitions against some of the most talented young skiers anywhere in the country.
After a successful week training with the squad prior to the competition, he has now been invited to join the highly talented contingent on a permanent basis to further enhance his outstanding recent development.
This will give Cameron the opportunity to test his skills against the best young skiers in the country at the British Championships in Tignes, France.
Cameron’s performed superbly at the Champéry showcase, securing a brilliant time in his debut Grand Slalom race from a mountain start, which saw five of the 29 competing unable to post a time.
The aspiring skier also managed to claim a notable success with the Rossendale Ski Club alongside fellow pupil Xavier Poynton at the Pendle Winter Series recently.
