A host of talented sailing squad members performed well in the latest leg of a regional competition.
The Rydal Penrhos contingent took part in the third stage of the North Wales Club Youth Racing Circuit, which took place at Red Wharf Bay Sailing Club on Saturday, July 7.
There were a number of impressive performances throughout the event, with Year 7 pupil Llion Morris leading the way with another first place in the Topper class, his second success in three outing to put him at the top of the overall standings.
Prep School pupil James Mann continued his excellent recent form with second place in the Tera fleet, with Zac Roberts continuing his excellent progression with fifth place in the Optimist Class.
Rounding off the achievements from a school perspective was Aidan Skinner, who crossed the line fourth in the General Handicap fleet to further extend his advantage at the summit of the hugely competitive category.
It has been another exceptional season of triumphs for Rydal Penrhos’ thriving sailing programme, with each pupil involved benefitting significantly from the expert coaching provided by a staff team led by department leader Max Todd.
Director of Sport Allen Boyd, said: “Our Sailing squad continue to reap the rewards of all their hard work and hopefully this can continue as the North Wales CYRC series progresses throughout the summer.
“Llion is one of the most passionate and committed young men we have ever had on the squad and his development has been very impressive, and Aidan also deserves an enormous amount of credit for his persistence in the hope of securing the overall General Handicap title.”
