Preparatory School sailing squad members geared up for a busy summer on the water at a special event.
Rydal Penrhos’ hopefuls took part in a special three-day training camp as they embark on the new campaign, and this has been implemented by the school’s hard-working staff to hone their skills even further as they aim for both regional and national success in the coming months.
Under the stewardship of coach Max Todd and his staff, sailors worked on everything from technique to wind alignment during racing, which will stand them in good stead as they embark on their busy schedule.
The sailing department is something unique to the school and utilises its stunning location on the North Wales coastline to full effect, and it is another of the opportunities that a large number of pupils have not only take advantage of, but have thrived doing.
Deputy Head Alison Hind, said: “Our sailing squad all applied themselves really well during the training sessions, and with the talent we have throughout all year groups the potential for a lot of success is very high.
“This is a wonderful part of the world to live and learn, and our sailing programme has brought the very best out of our pupils in recent years thanks in no small part to the tireless work of Max and his team.”
