A large number of talented sailors performed well at a national event recently.
The Rydal Penrhos contingent travelled to Pwllheli to compete at the RYA Welsh Youth National Championships, which featured some of the best young talents across the country and saw a number of notable performances from aspiring stars at the school.
In addition to the victories of Ewan Luke/Zac Blomeley and the brother duo of Kevin and Liam Farrell, the competition also brought some high finishes for other young sailors who are developing their skills considerably under the guidance of programme leader Max Todd and his staff.
The trio of Llion Morris (23rd), Zac Hay (35th) and Christian Cheesley (35th) all gave a good account of themselves in the Topper class, while fellow Year 7 pupil Zac Roberts finished 19th in the competitive Optimist event.
Welsh squad member Aidan Skinner (7th) continued his excellent recent form in his Laser, with the talented female duo of Hannah Gasem and Emily Madden crossed the line fifth in the RS Feva race.
Eddie Farrell came fifth in the 29er Class alongside partner Chloe Butterworth, and in the General Handicap, there were four top 15 finishes in the form of Kevin and Liam (5th), Josh Manning and partner Lucy Hughes (8th), Aidan (12th) and Emily and Hannah (18th).
There were also four Prep School pupils that took their place in the Regatta Fleet, with Will Rutherford, Harrison McKinnel, Sophie Morris and Agatha Favill all demonstrating their enormous promise which will give them plenty of encouragement for a busy series of upcoming competitions.
