A talented sailing squad member has been rewarded for another outstanding season with a national squad selection.
Josh Manning, a Year 11 boarding pupil at the school, was recently selected to the RYA Cymru Wales National 420 squad to add to his fine list of recent accolades.
The sports scholar has enjoyed another memorable campaign on the water alongside sailing partner and fellow Pwllheli Club member Lucy Hughes, achieving a series of high finishes at high-profile events across the country in the face of some stern competition.
This has once again caught the eye of RYA Cymru selectors, and Josh will attend a series of training sessions throughout the winter to further hone his skills ahead of what is expected to be another immensely busy summer next year.
Josh has progressed a significant amount in recent years thanks to his hard work as part of Rydal Penrhos’ thriving sailing provision, which continues to push boundaries and go from strength-to-strength under the leadership of programme leader Max Todd, coach Dan Rippon and administrator Petrina Blomeley.
Director of Sport Allen Boyd, said: “Josh’s talent is matched by his incredible passion for sailing, and this has resulted in a large number of notable milestones that he is enormously deserving of.
“He has embraced being a boarder at Rydal Penrhos and the fantastic benefits it provides, and his selection to the national 420 squad will be another huge boost for his overall development and we wish him well with his training efforts throughout the winter.”
