Rydal Penrhos’ alumni network is planning a global celebration to mark its 18th birthday celebrations later this year.
Alumni and Development director Sarah Ritchie revealed that a ‘Worldwide Reunion’ for the Rydal Penrhos Society will take place over the school’s annual Founders’ Weekend celebrations from September 15-16.
Anyone not able to attend the festivities at Rydal Penrhos can join in with a special event featuring a host of different countries that former pupils are working and residing in across the world.
The society already has volunteers in Australia, Hong Kong, Portugal, Switzerland, Nigeria and Austria for events to mark the occasion, and the group are also looking to reunite alumni in the United States of America, Germany, Canada, the Czech Republic, France and Italy.
Mrs Ritchie, said: “We have a fantastic international community who are spread all over the globe, and we want to make sure that they also have the opportunity to join the celebrations. We are, therefore, hoping to organise our very first global alumni gathering.
“We would love alumni to get together with each other in their own countries during the weekend. It may be that they get together for a meal, or for a few drinks. Perhaps meet for lunch, for coffee, go for a walk, or raise a glass to us from the beach.”
Anyone wishing to register their interest in the Global Reunion is urged to visit http://www.rydalpenrhos.com/Global-Alumni-Reunion and fill out the special online form, and anyone willing to volunteer their service should contact Mrs Ritchie via email at SJRitche@rydalpenrhos.com.
