Two young rugby hopefuls at Rydal Penrhos helped their regional side to a superb campaign.
Zac Roberts and George Watkins, Year 8 pupils at the school, were part of the Colwyn Bay Rugby Club U13 side that managed to go the whole season undefeated thanks to a series of exceptional displays throughout.
Talented back Zac captained the Bay side throughout their 33 fixtures, which saw the group attain a 100 per cent record against teams from England, South Wales and Galway in Ireland.
They amassed a staggering 1,345 points during the season, conceding 398 to further highlight their enormous potential as a unit.
George also gave the U13 squad a massive boost after re-joining the set-up during the second half of the season, which is sure to stand the group in extremely good stead as they move up to a higher age bracket following the summer break.
Director of Sport Allan Boyd, said: “This represents a significant achievement for Zac and George, who can be very proud of the high-level of consistency throughout the campaign.
“Zac’s leadership qualities have progressed a considerable amount during his time with us here at Rydal Penrhos, and his ability to motivate and inspire others around him are traits that will serve him well both in a sporting environment and during his academic studies.
“George also made a considerable impact during the second half of the season and is another with a very bright future.”
