A rugby star at Rydal Penrhos will be part of the RGC U18 squad for a pivotal clash this weekend.
Tomos Davies, a Lower Sixth Form boarding pupil at the school, has been named in the Gogs’ side for their clash against Blues South at Cardiff Arms Park in the Regional Age Grade under 18 tournament on Sunday, January 7 (2.30pm).
The 17-year-old forward, who represents Bangor Rugby Club, joined the school in September and has quickly emerged as a prominent figure for Rydal Penrhos’ first XV despite injury.
He was recently part of the school’s landmark tour of Japan, which saw the squad take on some of the best young sides in the country in what was an extremely worthwhile experience for the group.
Director of Sport Allen Boyd, said: “Tomos has done very well to recover from injury and it is great to see his hard work rewarded with another selection to the RGC U18 squad.
“The group have been improving with every fixture so far this season and their test against Blues South will be another difficult one, but it is a chance for them to make a further impact on the national stage and we wish them well with their efforts.”
