Two rugby academy stars at Rydal Penrhos helped RGC U18s to another impressive victory last weekend.
Henry Maitland-Davies and Tomos Davies, Upper and Lower Sixth Form pupils at the school, were part of the Gogs’ superb 25-15 victory over Cardiff Blues, which was their second successive win in as many weeks against high-quality opposition.
The contest, played at Bangor Rugby Club, was another highly polished overall performance from the group, with Maitland-Davies controlling the tempo of the game well from the scrum-half position.
Forward Davies also made an eye-catching contribution on his hometown pitch, making a number of key tackles in critical situations to keep the Blues attack at bay.
This result followed on from their 17-10 victory over Dragons Academy on Sunday, January 21.
Director of Sport Allen Boyd, said: “This was another incredible performance from the RGC U18 side and you can see their confidence is growing with every game they play together as a unit.
“Henry has been a key component of the youth set-up for a number of years now and he continues to show immense progression, while Tomos has also come on a great deal since joining Rydal Penrhos in September.
“The future of rugby in the region has never been brighter and we are delighted that our Academy partnership with RGC and the Welsh Rugby Union continues to produce young players of the highest quality.”
