A Rugby Academy graduate from Rydal Penrhos scooped a notable double for his efforts with RGC throughout the season.
Efan Jones, who left the school in 2016, played a key role for the Gogs’ during the Principality Premiership campaign, which finished with the Colwyn Bay-based side finishing in eighth spot.
In recognition for his sterling contribution to his side’s cause, Jones picked up the Overall Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year accolades at the club’s end of season presentation evening following their final day win over Cardiff.
The scrum-half has been at the very top of his game for the Gogs’ after being given increased responsibility last summer following the departure of Alex Schwartz to Cornish Pirates.
This is the latest in a series of exceptional achievements from the former pupil, who made his first team debut for RGC when still a member of Rydal Penrhos’ thriving Sixth Form provision.
He also managed to secure international honours during his time at the school with the Wales U18 squad.
Director of Sport Allen Boyd, said: “Efan is one of the best players operating at his position anywhere in the domestic game, and we are enormously proud to have played a part in his development.
“He has really thrived with the increased role at RGC this season and there is no telling what he can go on to in the future if he continues to perform at such a high level.”
