A former Rugby Academy star at Rydal Penrhos turned in a standout performance to help his University side to a notable victory.
Adam Sabri, who left the school last summer, was part of the Cardiff University Freshers squad that took on Swansea University in their annual Welsh Varsity clash on Wednesday, April 25.
The talented back, who was a member of the Rydal Penrhos Academy which is run in partnership with Principality Premiership side RGC and the Welsh Rugby Union, was one of the stars of the showcase and managed to help himself to a pair of tries in their 22-9 triumph.
This is the latest in a long line of recent achievements for the ex-Head Boy, who continues to show his immense promise after honing his skills under the expert coaching staff at the school until last year.
He has contributed significantly to the success of Premiership side Newport over the season and is highly regarded by the Black and Ambers after joining the set-up in August.
The 19-year-old is combining his rugby exploits with his studies, and is just about to finish his first year of Dentistry.
Director of Sport Allen Boyd, said: “Adam was a huge part of life here at Rydal Penrhos, and it is great to see him thriving during the first year on his University life.
“He is a prime example of the solid foundation we give to each aspiring athlete under our care here at the school, and his wonderful talent is matched by his work ethic that has been the cornerstone of his success.”
