Rugby 7s: Busy week ahead for talented U18 squad

Rydal Penrhos senior rugby 7s squad will look to continue their impressive start to the season at a pair of high-profile tournaments this week.

The U18 side face another very busy few days of action immediately following the half term break, which will start at the Birkenhead School 7s on Wednesday, March 6.

A talented squad has been named for the tournament, which will see Rydal Penrhos take on other established schools from across Cheshire and the North West.

Welsh rugby league international Will Lynch will be looking to build on a series of exceptional displays of late, with the likes of Joseph Morrow, Sean Hughes and Tomos Davies are others that have earned representative honours with RGC and Cheshire at youth level.

The duo of Fin Hare and Sam Bixby recently helped the RGC U16 side secure an outstanding Regional Age Grade victory and they are also included, with Joe Gardener, Ewan Luke, Oliver Gibson and Jake Palmer-Reid also set to play a significant part in any success that comes their way.

This tournament will be further preparation for the Quilter Cheviot North of England U18 7s on Sunday, March 10.

Director of Sport Allen Boyd, said: “It has been a very pleasing start to the 7s season and hopefully our U18 squad can build on this during what is sure to be a very busy and exciting few weeks for all involved.”
