Drama and Music standouts took centre stage at Rydal Penrhos for one of the most prominent entertainment events on the calendar.
The school’s Drama and Music departments presented RPS Showstoppers over two night on Thursday, March 8 and Friday 9, which resulted in a pair of sell-out occasions at the Memorial Hall.
There were a host of stunning performances throughout the event, which featured some iconic songs from world-renowned musicals and legendary motion pictures over the years.
The group have been working incredibly hard under the leadership of Director of Music Pete Williams, Head of English and Drama Leah Crimes and Music teacher Richard Davies in the lead-up to the showcase, with a large number also contributing behind the scenes with sound, lighting and IT for the event.
Notable performances came from the likes of Amy Yue, Zhara Shamsi, Miles Poller, Joe Morrow, Hannah Davies, Bella Rutherford and Grace Ormerod, while Tegid Goodman-Jones also demonstrated his incredible vocal talent throughout.
Mr Williams, said: “I was in awe really and to see so many giving amazing performances despite their relatively young age was particularly pleasing.
“The Friday, in particular, was absolutely incredible and I consider myself very lucky to work not only with some fantastic young people, but also such passionate and dedicated teachers such as Mrs Crimes and Mr Davies, who are full of amazing ideas and are a constant source of inspiration to our pupils.
“Hopefully those that came along really enjoyed themselves and we already have some exciting ideas regarding next year’s production.”
