Pupil Profiles: Will G

In the lead-up to our Open Morning events in April, we will be taking a look at the pupils that make Rydal Penrhos such a fantastic place to live and learn.

The latest Prep School pupil under the spotlight is Will Glanville:

  • Name: Will Glanville
  • Year group: Year 5
  • Pupil status: Prep
  • House: Snowdon

Flamboyant, enthusiastic and talented, Will has become one of the most likeable and endearing pupils that are currently living and learning at our Prep School.

The Year 4 pupil excels in a number of different areas and is a testament to what can be achieved when you take advantage of the wealth of opportunities afforded to each pupil at our prep and senior sites.

His efforts on stage have been at the forefront this year and his hilarious performance in the Year 4 play A Midsummer Night’s Dream drew widespread plaudits, thanks in no small part to the chemistry he showed with classmates Cameron Pye, Rafe Tunstall, Dominic Chamberlain, Angelo Katsouris and Archie Jeeves.

He is also a very talented musician and has seen his confidence soar thanks to the large number of concerts he has been involved in during his time at Rydal Penrhos, with his guitar solos always a source of great excitement for those in attendance.

Will is also a multi-talented sportsman with a knack for coming up with big performances when the pressure is on that is sure to stand him in good stead for the future.

The eight-year-old is a member of the Conwy Borough FC youth set-up and has helped them to a series of tournament triumphs since their inception, which included a notable victory in the Towyn Shield earlier this season.

He has also thrived in the discipline of Gymnastics which has resulted in regional honours and a national competition appearance, and Will also played a huge role in Rydal Penrhos’ Cooper Rugby Cup success over Colwyn Bay as part of the U9 side, who were the standout performers on the day with an 11-3 win.

The pupil is also developing academically across all areas thanks to the dedicated commitment of teachers and support staff situated throughout Rydal Penrhos, and he looks to have an incredibly bright future if he continues to progress.

Rydal Penrhos will be holding Senior and Prep Open Morning events on Friday, April 26 and Saturday 27 from 9.30am, and to book your place contact Admissions Officer Jenny Marsden on 01492 530155 or email admissions@rydalpenrhos.com.
