In the lead-up to our Open Morning events in April, we will be taking a look at the pupils that make Rydal Penrhos such a fantastic place to live and learn.
The latest Prep School pupil under the spotlight is Shane Ayeni:
- Name: Shane Ayeni
- Year group: Year 4
- Pupil status: Prep
- House: Pembroke
Despite being at the Prep School for just 14 months, Shane has wasted no time in making a real impact on Rydal Penrhos life and has taken full advantage of the vast opportunities available.
The eight-year-old is progressing at a significant rate in a variety of different areas, which is a testament to how hard he is working in-and-out of the classroom under the guidance of Rydal Penrhos’ dedicated staff.
Shane was one of the standout performers at the recent Cooper Cup rugby clash with Colwyn Bay, which saw the school retain their crown for the fourth consecutive year with a 3-1 aggregate victory.
The pacey player turned in a virtuoso display for the U8 tag rugby side in their win over the Bay, and his ability to avoid tackles was an eye-catching feature of the success that can give him plenty of encouragement ahead of next season.
He has also embraced the school’s skiing programme with outstanding results, with Shane coming on leaps and bounds during their weekly sessions at Llandudno’s dry ski slope.
Shane can also be incredibly proud of the progress he is being made academically, and this is evident with his exceptional recent success in the school-led Spelling Challenge.
If that wasn’t enough, Shane has proven to be a confident presence on stage and gave a fantastic solo reading at Rydal Penrhos’ annual inter-house Art, Music and Drama competition, which saw him come away with a category win and a rousing ovation from the audience.
Rydal Penrhos will be holding Senior and Prep Open Morning events on Friday, April 26 and Saturday 27 from 9.30am, and to book your place contact Admissions Officer Jenny Marsden on 01492 530155 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
