In the lead-up to our Open Morning events in April, we will be taking a look at the pupils that make Rydal Penrhos such a fantastic place to live and learn.
The latest Prep School pupil under the spotlight is Lily Copeland:
- Name: Lily Copeland
- Year group: Year 5
- Pupil status: Prep
- House: Snowdon
Whether it be Academic, Drama or Sport, there is not much that Lily does not throw her herself into or indeed thrive doing.
The nine-year-old is following in the hugely impressive footsteps of brother James, and has developed considerably thanks to the opportunities presented to her throughout all areas of Rydal Penrhos life.
Her talent on stage is a prominent feature, with the pupil playing a significant part in the recent Year 4 play A Midsummer Night’s Dream in her role as Hermia, which drew widespread plaudits over two-nights.
This was preceded by another standout showing at the Inter-House Art, Music and Drama competition, where she demonstrated her superb vocal prowess with a memorable duet of the Moana smash hit How Far I’ll Go.
Her sporting achievements are also plentiful, with Lily part of the U8 rugby side that helped Rydal Penrhos to Cooper Cup glory for a third year in succession last year.
She is also an enormously talented cross-country runner and finished 19th at the North West Championships, while Lily was also part of the school swim squad that achieved qualification to the Urdd National Gala after triumphing in the regional heat.
Lily’s hockey and netball skills have improved greatly thanks to the coaching she has received at the Prep School, and there is plenty of encouraging signs that the talent can continue to achieve great things long into the future.
The prep standout has benefitted from the Spelling Challenge learning initiative and is just a few levels away from completion, while she also has a keen eye for Art, which has received commendation from teacher Suzy Morris.
Rydal Penrhos will be holding Senior and Prep Open Morning events on Friday, April 26 and Saturday 27 from 9.30am, and to book your place contact Admissions Officer Jenny Marsden on 01492 530155 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
