In the lead-up to our Open Morning events in April, we will be taking a look at the pupils that make Rydal Penrhos such a fantastic place to live and learn.
The latest Senior School pupil to feature is Jonathan Osbourne:
- Name: Jonathan Osbourne
- Year group: Year 8
- Pupil status: Day
- House: Morgan
When you identify a pupil that has thrived since joining Rydal Penrhos, then Jonathan is a perfect example.
The 11-year-old is a very talented individual who has come on a significant amount thanks to the opportunities afforded to him at the school in academic and co-curricular areas.
He has been with us since enrolling as a Reception class pupil in 2010, and was a prominent member of the Prep School before earning an Academic and Sports Scholarship to Rydal Penrhos’ senior site in September.
One area where Jonathan is thriving is Athletics, which has seen him emerge as one of the brightest young prospects in the region thanks to his ongoing commitment and support received by staff at the school.
His development has been enhanced considerably thanks to the work the pupil is doing with the school’s dedicated Strength and Conditioning staff, with Jonathan coming in for early morning sessions which have had a profound effect on his overall performance.
This has subsequently brought a huge amount of Track and Field success, with the aspiring star now holding the North Wales indoor and outdoor Long Jump titles thanks to his sterling efforts.
Jonathan is also an exceptional sprinter and has won numerous 60-metre sprint accolades in recent months, and is also a key figure of the U12 side that won all but one of the games during their first hugely successful season.
However, there is far more to Jonathan than just sporting triumphs, with the talented singer appearing at Young Performers’ concerts alongside sister Eleanor, while also demonstrating an excellent application to his studies and in particular Mathematics, Science and English.
Rydal Penrhos will be holding Senior and Prep Open Morning events on Friday, April 26 and Saturday 27 from 9.30am, and to book your place contact Admissions Officer Jenny Marsden on 01492 530155 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
