In the lead-up to our Open Morning events in April, we will be taking a look at the pupils that make Rydal Penrhos such a fantastic place to live and learn.
The latest Sixth Form pupil under the spotlight is Emily Cashell:
- Name: Emily Cashell
- Year group: 2018 Leaver
- Pupil status: Weekly Boarder
- House: Osborn
Being the youngest of three sisters brings with it plenty of problems, but Emily has carried on the fine success of the Cashell siblings over the years at Rydal Penrhos.
The 17-year-old has contributed significantly to a wide range of different areas of school life, and he flourished under the leadership of Rydal Penrhos’ dedicated staff since her enrolment as a Reception class pupil in 2006.
Her leadership qualities saw her appointed as Hockey captain for the academic year, which saw her guide the senior XI to plenty of positive performances throughout the campaign.
She is also a key component of the school’s senior Netball side and has developed considerably under the superb coaching team of Head of Girls’ Games Nicky Head and specialist coach Heidi Blakewell, something that has brought with it a series of impressive displays.
Emily has been a hugely influential figure as part of the Sixth Form Charity Committee, and has played a massive part in the organisation of some high-profile fundraising events this year.
This included the annual BBC Children in Need Day that saw Emily taking over the school’s Snapchat and Instagram accounts to document the occasion, while she was a prominent figure in the running of Rydal Penrhos’ Christmas Market in aid of Ty Gobaith Children’s Hospice in Conwy.
The Edwards boarder is thriving academically in areas such as Religious Studies and Geography, while also taking part in community outreach initiatives and a plethora of inter-house competitions.
Rydal Penrhos will be holding Senior and Prep Open Morning events on Friday, April 26 and Saturday 27 from 9.30am, and to book your place contact Admissions Officer Jenny Marsden on 01492 530155 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
