Prep School weekly awards: June 15

A host of Preparatory School pupils have been rewarded for their exceptional work during the week thanks to an ongoing initiative.

As part of Rydal Penrhos’ achievement acknowledgement scheme, pupils across all age groups have been selected for accolades in recognition of their academic and co-curricular efforts throughout the week.

The worthy recipients received their respective awards from Deputy Head Alison Hind at the Prep School’s weekly Celebration Assembly on Friday, June 15.

Here are the Stars of the Week:

Reception: Archie Green - for being a fab helper all the time.

  • Year 1: Freddie Griffin - for progress in reading and spelling success.
  • Year 2: Xavier Poynton - for his ability to recall and spell a lusciously lavish array of adjectives in his independent writing.
  • 3JW: Lawrence Aspell - for amazing Mental Maths.
  • 4CEC: Amelia Williams - for being an excellent buddy and always thinking of others.
  • 5CC: Fflur Pierce - being so helpful and supportive with our visitors.
  • 5JP: Violet Roberts - for her consistently conscientious approach to all her work.
  • 6AG: Aidan Van Rooyen - for showing great perseverance during the Forest School Camp.
  • 6JM: Telor Jones - for exemplary manners and for generally being a good egg when, as school ski captain, he recently met Paralympic gold medal-winning skier and newly crowned MBE recipient Menna Fitzpatrick.

Art teacher Suzy Morris was thoroughly impressed with the painting from Freddie Barrington Chance, who scooped the Artist of the Week Award, while Amelia managed to secure her Pen Licence thanks to her superb progression during lessons.
