Prep School bids farewell to Mrs George and Mrs Wynne-Jones

Two dedicated staff members at Rydal Penrhos Preparatory School has been thanked for her outstanding

Anna George, who has been a member of the teaching staff for a decade, has decided to leave her position to take up a full-time post, and Welsh teacher Nerys Wynne-Jones is almost moving on to pastures new after an 11-year spell at Rydal Penrhos after accepting a role in Cardiff.

Mrs George has been an integral part of the development of Year 6 as both a teacher and form tutor, providing expert support and guidance in addition to playing a key role in the various concerts and performing arts performances put on throughout the academic year.

Mrs Wynne-Jones has taught Welsh passionately at Rydal Penrhos’ Prep and Senior sites, introducing new pupils to the language and played a huge role in the increasing influence of Welsh speaking at Rydal Penrhos.

Prep School Head Alison Hind, said: “Mrs George has been teaching in the school for ten years and is an incredibly versatile professional, delivering a range of subjects across Key Stage Two.

“We have been indebted to her for her flexibility and support. She has been an outstanding form teacher with a genuine desire to ensure the very best teaching and pastoral support for the children in her care. She has been a wonderful work colleague and will be sorely missed, but we wish her all the very best as she moves on to take up a new full-time teaching post.

“Mrs Wynne-Jones joined the school 11 years ago and has brought energy and enthusiasm to her Welsh lessons and a passion for art and song.

“She has encouraged not only our native Welsh speakers to extend their skills, but taught all her pupils about Welsh culture and language. We thank her for all her hard work over the years and wish her all the very best as she moves on to a new post in Cardiff.”
