A popular Preparatory School parent-led learning initiative is set to continue this term.
After the hugely successful first few sessions of the academic year, Rydal Penrhos is delighted to confirm that the Family Reading scheme will once again be implemented throughout the spring term across all year groups.
Prior to the start of the Prep School day, parents and family members are invited to the Lyndon Library for a half-hour reading period with their children in a relaxed and informal environment.
The first session will take place with the Reception class on Thursday, February 7, with the Year 1 group session scheduled for Wednesday 13.
Year 2 will close out the half term with their Family Reading session on Thursday, February 21, with sessions involving Years 3-6 taking place following the break.
Prep School Head Alison Hind, said: “This is something that we hoped parents would get involved with when we implemented the Family Reading sessions, and I have been delighted with the response to the programme so far.
“Reading is a great to enhance a child’s vocabulary and get their respective imaginations really ticking over prior to the challenges that lie ahead of them during the busy school day.”
There is no need to book your place at the Family Reading sessions, just attend on the required date.
