A host of talented performing artists showcased their skills at a special event.
Rydal Penrhos held its ‘Speech and Drama Presents’ show on Monday, April 23, which featured individual and group performances in-front of a bumper crowd at the Rick Maple Drama Studio.
The group have been working extremely hard throughout the academic year under the leadership of Christina Bloomfield, and they were recently rewarded for their exceptional application with a fine haul of podium finishes at the prestigious Chester Festival.
Year 7 were well represented in the form of Ella James, Ada Vonbank, Lily Davies, Eve Durrans, Ruby Merrick, Caitriona Searl and Emily Jones, while Christian Cheesley, Will Tavernor, George Watkins, Freddie James, Llion Morris and Arran Sen also made an eye-catching contribution to the show.
Other performances of note came from Sophie Madden, Emma Hackman, Lili Northcott and the charismatic Niall Richardson, with Shruthi Ganapathi, Beau Holden, Philippa Thomas, Ellen Jones, Josh Peevor, Dami Animashain, Bella Rutherford and Sophie Williams all producing polished performances.
The older members of the school community also showed their class, with Darcie Harker-Weston, Isobel Rogerson, Alicia Zhou, Amy Yue, Harry Hackman, Finlay Hare, Barooj Maqsood, Charlie Freytag, Zahra Shamsi, Niamh Hall and Ruby James all ensuring that the evening was another enormous success.
Deputy Head Tim Cashell, said: “It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening and congratulations go to Mrs Bloomfield and each pupil that took part in the show.
“There is something very special about seeing a pupil thriving on stage, and this is something we actively encourage here at Rydal Penrhos thanks to our outstanding creative and performing arts provision.”
