Preparatory School mathematicians tested their skills as a popular event made a welcome return to the calendar.
Rydal Penrhos’ Inter-House Maths competition took place on Thursday, June 7, which saw different year groups compete against each other in pursuit of the overall crown for their respective houses.
All children from Reception to Year 6 took part in a special Maths quiz held in their classrooms, and Years 3-6 had the opportunity to compete in a game of the popular Channel 4 quiz Countdown for additional points.
After a hugely competitive competition that saw some fantastic group co-operation and exceptional number skills, Pembroke managed to emerge victorious with a score of 228, with Brecon finishing in second after acquiring 195 for their efforts.
Snowdon rounded off the placings after securing a 183 overall score, with Pembroke House captains, Ethan Akroyd, Perry Williams, Sophie Hall and Isabella Peevor collecting the coveted trophy from Deputy Head Alison Hind at Rydal Penrhos’ weekly Celebration Assembly on Friday, June 8.
