Aspiring cricket stars at Rydal Penrhos battled it out for much-needed House bragging rights at a highly anticipated annual tournament.
The annual Prep-School Inter-House Cricket competition was held prior to the summer break, which saw Years’ 3-6 take the field in a series of round-robin matches under the guidance of Rydal Penrhos’ passionate staff led by Head of Boys Games Jamie McLeod and Head of Cricket Mike Leach.
After a hugely competitive afternoon of action, Pembroke managed to pip Snowdon and Brecon to the title by the slimmest of margins during what was another fantastic showcase of cricketing talent currently living and learning at the Prep School.
House captains Ethan Akroyd and Perry Williams collected the coveted trophy at Rydal Penrhos’ final Celebration Assembly of the academic year from Prep School Head Alison Hind on Friday, June 29.
Mr McLeod, said: “Every pupil that took part really made a great contribution to another fantastic Inter-House Cricket competition, and congratulations go to Pembroke on their victory.
“We have a wealth of sporting talent throughout all year groups here at Rydal Penrhos, and their hard work and determination has thoroughly impressed me and the rest of the staff during what has been another eye-catching academic year of achievements.”
