Aspiring tennis stars battled it out for bragging rights at a pair of competitions prior to the summer break.
Rydal Penrhos held its annual Inter-House Boys’ and Girls’ Tennis tournaments in sweltering conditions that saw some exciting action with plenty of quality on show.
The Boys’ Championship was a hotly contested affair throughout played in round robin format, and after a rousing display Payne emerged victorious from the competition, narrowly pipping Morgan, Osborn and Wesley to the crown.
Osborn managed to gain revenge in the Girls’ Championship, where they produced a dominant display throughout to deservedly win the title.
It was another year of impressive development and achievement from Rydal Penrhos’ tennis department, who gained a host of positive regional competition results to continue their progression under Head of Girls’ Games Nicky Head and the rest of the coaching staff.
Director of Sport Allen Boyd, said: “Our Inter-House competitions always fill each pupil taking part with an enormous sense of pride, and this year’s Tennis events were once again played in the right spirit with plenty of determination shown throughout.
“Congratulations go to Payne and Osborn on their respective victories and to everyone that contributed and supported to what was another very worthwhile experience for those involved.”
