A host of overseas pupils at Rydal Penrhos were invited to attend a special Rotary International event recently.
Eight pupils from the school, all representing different nationalities, were guests at a Rotary Club of Colwyn Bay dinner on Monday, March 13.
During the event, which took place at Colwyn Bay Cricket Club, the pupils spoke about their different countries and how their culture differs from what they are experiencing in the UK, before tucking in to a Mexican themed dinner with rotary members.
Aurelian Brovot spoke about his time in Germany, while Hong Kong native Alan Chan also spent time talking about his country.
Also in attendance were Linda Wang (China), Boris Nadykto (Ukraine), Kalina Tsaneva (Bulgaria), Nikita Shershavikov (Russia), Constanza Falcidia (Italy) and Augustas Skierus (Lithuania).
There were also some musical performances put on by Rydal Penrhos pupils, with Linda playing a traditional Chinese instrument much to delight of those in attendance.
Director of Music Pete Williams, said: “The Rotary Club invite us every year to this event, which is fantastic for our overseas pupils.
“It gives them a platform to speak about their pride for their specific countries, and their talks are always well received by members.
“All our pupils had a fantastic time and we would like to thank the Bay of Colwyn Rotary Club for inviting us to the event once again.”
