Rydal Penrhos’ Dramatic Society finally took the stage for the opening night of their annual production.
The school’s talented performing artists performed night one of Les Misérables on Thursday, March 28, which saw a sold-out audience descend on the Memorial Hall to witness the event.
Each cast member has been working exceptionally hard in the lead-up to the production under the expert guidance and support of the Dramatic Society’s creative team of Rachel Jones, Richard Davies and Leah Crimes
They also received some professional guidance during a three-day session with Iwan Lewis, who holds the position of Artistic Director at The Barn Theatre to further assist them during the rehearsal process.
Their dedication resulted in a truly outstanding opening performance of the Victor Hugo French novel, with plenty of powerful contributions from primary and secondary characters throughout that wowed those in attendance.
Here is some reaction to opening night from some audience members.
Karen Sherrington: “That was awesome, very moving, some brilliant individual performances but as a whole just wonderful. Loved it.”
Amanda Parry Williams: “It was an amazing performance. Well done to all.”
Iwan Williams: “Amazing talent at Rydal Penrhos - you were BRILLIANT - great production!”
There are a very small number of tickets remaining for tonight (Friday) and Saturday’s shows, and you can book by calling 01492 530155 or via email at SJames@rydalpenrhos.com.
